On the Memorial Day Weekend, Friday, May 23 to Monday, May 26, 2008, St. Tikhon’s Monastery held its annual pilgrimage. Special highlights of the Pilgrimage this year were the presence of the relics of St. Seraphim of Sarov, and the Wonderworking Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God. The Kursk icon was visiting St. Tikhon’s Monastery with the blessing of His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, newly-elected First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia.
